I’ve been getting a lot of requests lately for a fitting guide. I agree—it’s silly for me to be a bra-fit education blog when I don’t have a proper fitting guide myself! Not to mention, it’s information that needs to be out there—so many women are wearing the wrong size, especially in my country (the US), where most stores consider “DDD” a ridiculously huge size, and “32” a rare, small band size. This is not true! If the outdated +4 method of measuring wasn’t used, the most commonly sold size would be somewhere around 32F-G, instead of 36DD. In fact, the Eveden brand’s (parent company of Freya, Fauve, and Fantasie) best-selling size is 32G.
Wearing the right size can reduce back pain, improve posture, prevent breast tissue from migrating to the armpits or back, make bras feel comfortable, and extend the life of your bras. If you’ve ever thought of your boobs as strange or abnormal because they “just don’t look right in any bra,” this is the guide for you: It’s not you that’s wrong, it’s the bra that’s wrong for you!
Many people hear this news and wonder, what IS the best way to figure out your bra size if it isn’t getting fitted at Victoria’s Secret? (By the way, if you were fitted by Victoria’s Secret, you’re probably in the wrong size.) Well, here’s the answer: I present to you, Part 1 of ThatBraDoesNotFitHer’s fitting guide. (Well, I mean, my fitting guide.)
